Rick’s Road Trip from Miami to Key West
It was a beautiful sunny day when I set out from Miami for my road trip to Key West. The traffic was light and the scenery was stunning as I drove down Route 1. Along the way, I stopped at some of the most popular tourist destinations, including the Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve, and Biscayne National Park. I also made sure to visit some of the more unique attractions, such as the Coral Castle and the Monkey Jungle.
After spending a few days exploring everything that Key West has to offer, I can say without a doubt that it is one of the most beautiful places on earth. If you ever have the chance to visit, you definitely won’t be disappointed!

Florida Dad Bloggers
As a dad blogger based in Florida, I often get asked about the best places to travel with kids in tow. And while there are plenty of great options within the state, one of my favorite road trips is from Miami to Key West.
Not only is it a chance to explore some of Florida’s most iconic beaches and attractions, but it’s also a great opportunity for quality family time in the car. Here’s a look at some of the highlights of this trip:
-Miami: Of course, no visit to Florida would be complete without spending some time in Miami. Whether you’re soaking up the sun on South Beach or exploring the vibrant Wynwood Arts District, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained.
-The Overseas Highway: The drive from Miami to Key West is one of the most scenic in Florida, so be sure to take your time and enjoy the views. Stop at one of the many rest areas along the way and take a dip in the ocean or have a picnic lunch.
-Key West: Once you reach Key West, there’s no shortage of things to do. From lounging on the beach to visiting the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, you’ll find plenty to fill your days. And don’t forget to sample some key lime pie – it’s a must!
